In Vitro Activity of Vernonia cumingiana Benth.

To investigate the antioxidant activity and antibacterial of Vernonia cumingiana Benth, in this study, spectrophotometry assays were used to determine indexes vitro, including 1,1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging capacity total capacity, aiming understand its pharmacodynamic components. The results showed that different component extracts had high DPPH ability highest rate was obtained when chloroform extract branches 0.60 mg·mL−1, ethylene acetate 0.10 0petroleum ether extraction 0.90 mg·mL−1; maximum clearance DPPH•, •OH, O2-• 104.71%, 99.04%, 93.05%, mg mL−1; 95% ethanol inhibitory effect on E. coli, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus epidermidis indicating it good anti-inflammatory activity.
